The purpose of this club is to spread the joy of gardening to the community, educate students on how to grow their own gardens, and to explain the science behind gardens. This club will be very hands-on and students will learn through experimentation and be able to apply lessons to real-life.
This semester we will be focusing on native plants and animals, our local ecosystems, how gardening can help or hurt the environment, and we’ll have a special focus on famous gardeners and their achievements. Our goal this semester is supplement the core curriculum for each grade to reinforce lessons through garden-based experiences. This is a first-step in Garden Committee’s goal to spread garden-based curriculum throughout the school.
